Meegahakiula divisional secretariat division has situated in Badulla district east of the up country od Sri Lanka.Badulla district has 15 divisional secretariats. Meegahakiula is one of them. It is the smallest division of Badulla District. 105.5 Km2 land of the division it is 3.7% of the Badulla district. 20 grama niladari divisions included of divisional secretariat division.
The divisional secretariat division boundaries are south Soranathota Ds division from east Lunugala and Passara and western is kandaketiya ds division
Mountains and flat land mixed land can seen. There is a small town and more far from some villages as main cities closer Badulla and Mahiyangana from Megahakiula to Badulla 23 Km to Mahiyangana 36 Km
